Why this Calendar?
Let’s be honest, calendars are a dime a dozen, so I wanted to create something beautiful to look at that still gives you some fantastic knowledge about incredible women.
Why these women?
Women have been pioneers in many fields, but only a few are widely known, let alone celebrated. So I decided to feature women from across the globe, from different races, ages, backgrounds and fields (science, sport, politics, arts etc.).
What was the inspiration behind the art?
I decided to create a modern twist to East Africa’s beloved fabric, the Leso, allowing the bold patterns and colours to frame sketched illustrations of each woman.
